Hi there,
I’m submitting my objection to the Senedd reform. You can publish my name and remarks if you wish.
I would prefer that the Welsh budget goes to more important things like health and education, rather than paying more politicians and expanding the political class in Wales. Devolution has been here for over 20 years now and there have been very few tangible benefits to the lives of people in Wales - in fact with many things like healthcare Wales is faring worse than England, so clearly the Senedd is failing to hold the Welsh Government to account on these topics, and extra members is not likely to change that. I was involved in a project with the National Assembly for Wales before it became Senedd and it became clear through that work that many people feel disenfranchised despite devolution. In addition, the National Assembly for Wales couldn’t even pay my business on time for that work and in fact still owes me money to this day - I spoke to other suppliers around that time with similar experiences with the Senedd not paying them on time and ripping off small businesses. As such, this demonstrates that the Senedd is not run professionally or competently. The Senedd is actively willing to breach contracts and break the law. The Senedd is embroiled in all sorts of controversies. For example, it has been proven that they have allowed drug use occur within their building and during Covid they did little to stop mass gatherings around their venue which was in breach of law and guidance at the time. Giving an incompetent organisation more money to waste is not the solution to creating a more competent establishment.
Thanks,
James Koash
